The Bias ID is a unique amp identifier, all the default amps have their own IDs. This ID is used by Ampl4™ when looking up for know Amps descriptions. For ToneCloud®, a new ID will be generated by Bias each time you download an amp (even the same one) or when you use the Bias “save as” function to save a customized an Amp.
The hash value is calculated by Ampl4 from the internals of an amp (Tone stacks, tubes, equalizations, etc.) ignoring the name, description, etc. It allows you to easily find all the duplicates you have in your collections. Be aware that the hash is sensitive to the set-up (front panel setup: eqs, presence, gain etc.): The same amps with different set-ups will have different hashes (might be refined in future releases)
Simply drag a picture from a local folder or from you internet Browser to the picture zone of the Amp detailed view. Removing the custom picture (Selected picture + backspace key) will restore the default Bias picture.
Some of the amp you discover when importing a collection from a Bias App or Plugin are “Unlisted”. It means that they don’t belong to any category (Clean, Crunch, Acoustic, etc.) and they are neither tagged as being Custom (saved by the user) or ToneCloud amps. The good news is that you can surface all these amps in your export destination App by setting them as being custom or Tonecloud amps in Ampl4 !
Not all of the meta-data you enter in Ampl4™ interface is exported to the Bias Apps. The Ampl4™ collection should remain your main repository (see next question).
Import the amps in a new temporary collection, select all of them (cmd-A) (or select the amps of interest), drag them all to your Ampl4™ collection. When asked if you want to skip or replace the existing amps, select “Skip”. Close the temporary collection.
You just need to delete the “GlobalPresets” folder and it will be regenerated with the default amps when restarting Bias. Proceed carefully as you will lost all the custom or downloaded amps. Importing first the GlobalPresets folder into an Ampl4™ collection as a backup might be a good idea.
If you exported the default Bias FX Amps to Bias Amp desktop, they now appear only in the “Bias” category of Bias FX (If you have a proper Bias License or not at all if you don’t). You will have to choose if you’d rather surface them all in Bias Amp desktop or have them properly displayed in the right categories under Bias FX desktop. To preserve the default Bias FX display, REMOVE from the collection all the default FX amps (belonging to an FX category: Live, Low-gain, high-gain, etc.) before exporting it to the Bias Folder. done.
